  McKennie reiterated that stance when piecing together a dream 5-a-side squad for GOAL. The 25-year-old midfielder was presented with a number of either/or selection posers. The first of those saw him pick Ronaldo over Messi, with Inter Miami’s record-breaking Argentine being overlooked.

  McKennie went on to favour Vinicius Junior over his new Real Madrid team-mate Kylian Mbappe, with the Brazilian considered to enjoy his life more on and off the field. Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka got the nod over Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah, Karim Benzema edged out England captain Harry Kane in the striking stakes and Canada international Alphonso Davies was selected ahead of Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.
