Manchester United flop Rasmus Hojlund has been told he should be "shaking in his pants" after losing his starting spot as Denmark’s main striker.

  WHAT HAPPENED?

  The 22-year-old frontman was supposed to be a long-term option to lead the line for club and country after making early progress in his career at Sturm Graz and Atalanta. A £72 million ($97m) transfer took him to Old Trafford in the summer of 2023.

  Hojlund has registered just 26 goals through 95 appearances for the Red Devils, with only four efforts recorded in the Premier League last season. He has started to drift out of favour there, with United now being heavily linked with Sporting sensation Viktor Gyokeres.

  Hojlund also finds himself slipping into reverse at international level, with Denmark favouring Mika Biereth in their No.9 berth for a friendly date with Lithuania.   Biereth is considered to have put in a "venomous" performance, with Danish media outlet claiming that: "Hojlund must be shaking his pants by now. He has been overtaken." United’s No.9 was given just 18 minutes off the bench, and made little impact.
